There are several things that I wanted to share today about events at iBear that can be considered as “already established and making difference to how it used to be”. First thing is the forums. Even several months ago we used to have no forums and answered questions via emails. Although we answered every email, there were users who complained that they did not have our attention. The issue was about the nature of emails and spam filters; some users could not get our message or did not see it, and thought there was no answer.

Then when we introduced the forums, everything has become clear and easy. First of all, users many times don’t even need to ask a question because there is already an answer, which they can find using search. Secondly, they can see how we answer questions, and importantly they can help each other.

Currently there is forum support available in 3 languages: English, Japanese and Russian. I answer questions in English myself. As for the Japanese forum, I would like to introduce and thank a person who has been helping Japanese users: her name is Rika, and all the users from Japan please rely on her professional answers. The Russian forum is backup up by Denis; all the users from Russia may trust his opinion. And one more thing, I want to say thank you to all iBearMoney users who help other users to find answers to their question. If you are an active user of iBearMoney, and like the app, please help other users in the forums! By helping others, we learn even more ourselves.

Some time ago we started using twitter, and I keep answering your quick questions whenever I launch it. The number of iBearMoney users has grown to about 800 followers, which proves that twitter is a great tool for quick updates. If you are not yet following me, please do so and stay updated instantly.

Another important thing now is iBearMoney QI (desktop integration). I sent the link for the beta version to approximately 90 people who had expressed their desire to help with testing it. By now we’ve collected some comments in this forum thread, most of which are favorable about QI data handling (and that makes me feel good). Our developer is now going to fix some of the issues, and we will release the QI officially. The majority of issues seem to appear from differences in Bonjour versions (Bonjour is a software from Apple that locates devices), and some users had to manually remove their older Bonjour and install Bonjour supplied with QI to make the software work. By the way, many users who wanted to test QI did not post any feedback so I assume that they are happy with the software and have no comments.
