QI beta 2 is available

Today we are ready to make QI beta 2 available.

Announced quite a while ago, QI stands for Quick Input, and is a desktop client intended solely for easy input of data to the iPhone version of iBearMoney. Many users wonder why it is taking so long time to make QI available, and even questioned whether we actually want to make it available.

QI is a desktop client, which we started to develop because we wanted to help users of Money for iPhone to add data to the application. We still do want to have it happened. We are not making any profit from QI. I hope you will find this initiative helpful.

Please read important information about QI (below the links) prior to working with it. Here are links to QI beta 2:

Version for Mac

Please note a few important things:

1. Some time ago we made QI beta 1 available to limited audience based on pre-requests. A lot of comments were posted about the way it worked, but we also found a gap in the way how it worked with user databases. It has taken us quite a while to make sure that the issue is resolved, and the QI developer concentrated solely on the databases issue, not on the other proposals. However, please note that it is still a beta version so make sure to create and save a new backup to your desktop computer before working with QI.

2. QI works only in direct connection with your iPhone. It does not store locally any data, and if you disconnect and do not sync the data, all the changes you have made will be ignored. It means that your iPhone must be on with iBearMoney running for you to be able to save any data. After you finish working with your data in QI, make sure to click Sync and confirm profile update on your iPhone.

3. QI requires the latest version of Bonjour (here is a link to Wikipedia article about Bonjour) and works only with Wi-Fi.

Please report all the issues regarding QI beta 2 in this forum thread.
