Hi, I have just recently did a clean Lion install of my macbook pro. I have a time machine backup of the data of my previous Lion install before the clean install. I have copied the Bills application from my time machine backup to my current install, in hope it will transferred my saved data in Bills which it hasn't. Before i did the fresh install I also exported my Bill's data to the csv file that Bill's function provided but there isn't any import function.
I haven't sync my Bill's data to dropbox at all.
Can you help me import or get my data back or which files to copy from my time machine. Thanks.

To create a bcakup file, go to the program to the backup section and click "create" there. Than get backup from iTunes. As for CSV files, there is only export option (no import option) . If you need to excahnge data between devices you may do so using dropbox http://ibearsoft.com/bills/sync-via-dropbox/. If I haven't answer your question, provide me with more details so I will be able to give you a more precise reply.

Hi Elena, thanks for the response. I'm not sure if i'm running a different version of your software but I don't have a backup section as you mention. The version I'm running is 1.6.3.
I'm also not sure how you can get a backup from iTunes if you could help me do that would be great. I have search itunes to do this but no option to get a backup restore. I have also checked App store as well and no luck there. Also just so you know I'm talking about Bill's for the Mac version.
As all I'm trying to do is find out what or where the data (which files it saves on the mac so i can transfer them to my current install on my mac) is saved for Bills app.
Thanks.

You can't export data the way you want having CSV files. Try to do the following. First, all the data is saved in the file here: /Users/<USER>/Library/Application Support/com.ibearsoft.billsformac/.Data/database.sql
If you have your old file (with data) saved, you just copy it on the place of the current file (new, without data). Please note, the standard file manager may won't show you the directory, you should open it with another program, like mucommander. Also in Finder (search) you may choose GO=>Go to folder, the line will appear here and you should copy this path Users/<USER>/Library/Application Support/com.ibearsoft.billsformac/.Data there and press Ok. Let me know if you need further clarifications and if your issue is solved.Posted 6 months ago # -
