   Hi

   All I want to know now: is it possible to import data from excel/csv/other format?

   Hi. Money currently supports only OFX import. Other options for import are on the way, but not yet available.

   Thanks for your answer so far.

   Is there a detailed description available on how to build an ofx-file suitable for standard imports and not only bank-account information?
   Because with such a description i could write my own little csv->ofx converter (and send it to you if you're interested ;))

   Just talked to our developers, and they say that it is generally a risky idea to write your own converter because it may damage your database in case of any errors, and then lead to unpleasant consequences. So, we are going to make our own *safe* converter available from the iPhone, and while we don't have it yet, I think there is no other way, but to wait. There are also some risky options of searching for a converter online... but many of them proved to be invalid (although everything seemed to be initially fine).

   And could you give me the devs' timeline on a converter?
   (because if it's just a risky idea, I would go with a self-written one if the timeline's too long ;))

   I don't think it would be too bad an idea to build a CSV importer for the Desktop Client. Then you can fairly easily transfer from Excel to the client where you can verify and modify the data before syncing it into the app. I also needed to do this because for some reason, the OFX from my credit union was unable to import into Money, but there was no surefire converted so I had to go at it manually. And yes, it took FORVER!

   It would be very useful for me, too, as my bank only provides CSV files... aht thinki: Fineco, my bank, is the first Italian online bank, if I'm not mistaken. Few years ago I asked them to provide OFX but the request has probably been rejected
