I've lost my transactions for the past few weeks, can someone please let me know what I may have done wrong and if there is any way to recover it.
My entries are gone, someone please help

I think it happened when I used the backup button. My templates are still there but transactions seem to be gone. I tried to download the backup to my computer but it was not accessable. If it is not possible to recover the lost entries is there a way to clear everything off and start again from March 1st? This is the best app I have, I am looking forward to getting it running again.
Also do you have any more info on the availability of desktop client?

I still don't understand how it could happen. I'd assume that you have uploaded data from your old backup where you had no transactions yet, and that could be the reason why you still can see your templates while the latest (not included in the backup) list of transactions is gone. What do you think?
If you need to start all over again, create a new profile, and everything will be new there. Just make sure to be clear on what has happened with your old data so that you don't run into the same thing again. I also recommend that you add your email to the profile because otherwise you won't be able to recover the password if you forget it.
The app is indeed superior, and I think you will benefit from it the most. The desktop client is "under reconstruction" yet. I prefer now not to give an exact date when we release it, but it is almost completely polished and ready.
So please make sure that you do the right thing with your backups. You may have installed your old backup instead of creating a new one, and that's why the issue has appeared.

I don't understand it either. It wasn't from a previous backup as this is the first time I tried to make one.
When I try to open the backup file on my computer the page says the following:The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view xml using the style sheet. Please correct the error and
then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Not sure if this makes it any clearer for you or not, it is something I don't understand.
If I am nor successful in recovering, I will start again.How do I clear off everything to start again? If I do that can I keep my same login /profile? I didn't use a password on the app (I didn't want to have to enter it each time). If I erase the app and redownload it , is there a way to do that without paying for it again?

I've checked with the developers. No clear answer why your entries could disappear, but can answer several other questions.
1. Why your computer was showing "The XML page cannot be displayed" message: you did not actually save the backup to your computer, but opened it in the browser. Some browsers don't save files when they can open them, so the right way to save a backup is to right click, and then choose "Save object as". This is described here.
2. You can simply delete your previous profile by tapping the profile name from your start screen, then tap the blue circle with an arrow, and there you will see "Delete profile" button.
3. Then you will be able to simply create a new profile with the same name.
4. If you erase the app, you can download it from the App Store again free because the App Store keeps all your buying records and will not charge you. This is Apple's policy for every application.
5. Regarding the entries that have disappeared. I can also assume that you possibly have set another date and cannot find them. Could you please try to use search if you remember how they were called? What kind of transactions were they (i.e. regular, automatic or other?) You are the only person who have reported this issue.

Just to be clear,
I have now started over with all my info on the app. I would like to backup everything now that the new entries are in there. I looked at the 'create backup' instructions again, where it says that your computer should say 'save object as'....mine says 'save target as' , does that mean something different? Also, do I need to have a money application of some kind (i.e. quicken or some other program) installed, before I can download the info onto my computer?

Hello Deb, "save object as" should be the same as "save target as". This expression varies depending on your browser.
You can simply download the info onto your computer and do not need to have any extra application. Please note the folder where you saved your file so that you could easily find it. Please also keep the file on your personal computer to prevent unauthorized access to the file.

Here we go again!!!!So frustrating. Started all my entries again and when I went to backup and download to computer I get the same message as reported last time (see above). The only difference is my entries didn't get erased off my phone this time. What is going on????????????
