I seem to not have the correct password necessary to create the back-up file in ibearmoney 4.0 and I can no longer recover the password as my email address is no longer active (changed internet provider a few months back and did not think to change my email in ibearmoney 4.0). Is there anything I can do to recuperate the password to my profile?
Password unretrievable from ibearmoney 4.0 (for data transfer to money 5.0)

You dont need to enter a password unless you want a password, just leave it blank and hit create backup. When you go to restore it, same thing.

Thanks for the reply however, when I press create when backing up I get the following message "Error - wrong password" when none was entered. I don't recall ever entering one but when I try to recover it, unfortunately it goes to an unaccessible email account.
When I originally downloaded ibearmoney (over a year ago), I think that I continued using the profile already in the program. Would anybody have this password?

What about going into the pin settings in 4 and try saving it as blank?

Thanks for the reply. OK, was able to produce a ".bak" back-up from money 4 and upload it to iTunes to import in money 5. However, when I press "recover" in money 5, it tells me "wrong password" and I tried your suggestion with the PIN settings 5 but it still won't work. It looks like the backup file is coded with the same PIN or password as in money 4 (which I cannot access unfortunately).
It's too bad, 1 years of data entry down the drain... unless the next money 5 update can simply superimpose itself on the money 4 App and go from there.

So try this, go back to Money 4, go into the pin settings, First create a new pin that you know, save it and exit the program.
Go back in, enter your pin and then go change the pin to a blank one by leaving the new pin and verify pin fields blank, exit the program and go back in one more time to create a new version 4 backup.
Transfer that to 5, this will hopefully reset the pin.

Thanks again Tervort but here's a perhaps silly question: Where and how do I change PIN settings in Money 4.0? Once logged in (automatically), I can press the "more" tab on the bottom and then "settings" but I do not see where I can change the "PIN". Furthermore, Money 4.0 is requesting a "password".
Just a note, I notice that Money 4.0 asks for a "password" and Money 5.0 has "PIN" settings... would these two features be the same?

Yes, same thing, on 4 got to More.. > Menu > Change Profile, now tap on the name of your account, right below "select profile", and finally tap on the blue arrow beside your name.

Ah yes, thanks.
I did as you suggested and unfortunately when I press "save" I get the "Error - Wrong password" message. So basically, it looks like one cannot change the email address on the profile account without the correct password and one cannot cancel or change the existing password without retrieving the one on file directed to the email on account.
Looks like "Chicken or egg" syndrome...
