In what account do I put my salary, and what do I put for a value?

You can create any account you want. For example, you may have a debit card, which is used to receive salary. In this case you need to go to "Balance" tab, tap "Edit" and add your debit card to the list of payment accounts. Whenever you have salary, you can show that your new account receives it.
